This English national record has yet to be broken. From Joe Royle and Neville Southall, to Ted Sagar and the legendary David Watson, Everton has always offered top notch football that is second to none. They are known to be quick on the pitch, offensively and defensively sound, and never give up no matter what predicament they are in. From Celtic to Bristol City, Moyes took over the club as a seasoned veteran with experience, skill, and determination. He led Everton to a decent placing in his first season, and received the prestigious LMA Manager of The Year award. David continued to bring prominence to the club, by signing noteworthy players and tackling obstacles. Although he lost Wayne Rooney early in his tenure, Moyes surpassed his detractors in the years to come. He advanced Everton into the Champions League, UEFA Cup, FA Cup, and took the LMA Manger of the Year once again. The arrival of Tim Howard a few seasons ago, further cemented David’s legacy as a wise and premier manager in Everton.
Manchester United Brief Summary
Manchester United Crest
Manchester United F.C. is a football club playing in the English Premier League. They are one of the most popular and successful football teams in the world, as well as the richest of any sport.
Manchester United are popularly known as The Red Devils, Man U, or Man Utd.
Man U’s history begins in 1878 when the club was formed, and known then as Newton Heath L&YR F.C., a worker’s football team from Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway. In 1902 the team fell into financial turmoil, until a large investment by J.H. Davies, a local brewer, saved the club. They started fresh, with a new name: Manchester United.
Since the new beginning in 1902, Man U has had a few struggles, but that is overshadowed by their enormous success.
Between World War I and World War II the team juggled between victory and failure, moving back and forth from the first division to the second division. After WWII, the team has been nothing short of spectacular, being regulated from the top division only once.
Man Utd have won 18 domestic league championships, tying them with Liverpool for the most. They have also won many other honours, both domestically and internationally.
The club has produced some of the most historic, and recognizable names in football. Matt Busby, Bobby Charlton, Alex Ferguson, Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville, Christiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, just to scratch the surface.
Manchester United Stadium
The home of the Red Devil’s is Old Trafford, and has been since 1910. The stadium has also been given the name, "The Theatre of Dreams," by Manchester United’s famous manager Sir Matt Busby. The stadium itself has had an intriguing history. At the beginning of World Ward II, it was used as a depot for the army, and football competition continued there just as before. Then, in December 1940, it was damaged by a German air raid. Play was temporary moved until the following March, when only a few days later it was bombed a second time, rendering it useless. Man U did not play anymore games at Old Trafford until it was repaired in 1949.
After years of rebuilding and renovation, Old Trafford has become biggest stadium of any English Premier League team, with 76,212 seats. Old Trafford is a 5-star rated, "Elite" UEFA stadium, meaning it meets the high standards of UEFA to hold the Champions League Final.
